Fall/Winter 2011 cottage collection.
The post Hustle with Bustle first appeared on GLOSS: The Fashion Magazine .
Bustle designers Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow’s latest collection epitomizes the rich kids’ winter trip up to the cabin for a chill week of sufficiently cold activities like dog sledding and snowshoeing.
And what does the squire wear when entering the foreign territory of winter cottage life? Apparently, a dreamy collection of lounge pants, sweaters, well-fitted trousers, layered tees and cotton flannel underneath sartorial jackets in classic check and stripe prints. What more can we say? We approve.

John Fluevog has done it again.
The post The Pink Porter first appeared on GLOSS: The Fashion Magazine .
Vancouver shoe designer John Fluevog announced the production of The Porter Shoe, being designed this spring, exclusively for Opus Hotel properties in Vancouver and Montreal.
“It was an idea that originated a couple of years ago, and as time went on it was more of a question of ‘why haven’t we done this yet,'” says John Fluevog.
Made with Italian Analine leathers and branded with OPUS Hotels inside, the black patent shoe features a pop of pink leather that matches the colour scheme at Opus Hotels.
The Porter Shoes ($329) will be showcased in the hotel lobbies and worn by valets and male guest service associates at Opus Hotels. And if you really love the shoes, they will be featured on the hotel mini bar menu and in limited numbers at all ten North American Fluevog Shoe Stores and online at www.fluevog.com .

John Galliano’s menswear voyage.
The post Time Travel first appeared on GLOSS: The Fashion Magazine .
An army of models made the journey down the Parisian runway, transformed into historical characters for John Galliano’s spring 2010 collection. Shirts were wrapped around the head and turned into turbans, with wide leg pants or shorts, completing the look with a collection of belts layering the waistline.
A Tarzan-like model appeared with a calla lily wrapped around his head as a crown with a bronzed body, brown open shirt and bright yellow printed underpants.
With long cloaks, loose shorts, harem trousers, vests, and distressed leather jackets, the collection inspired by Napolean Bonaparte left the imagination soaring to medieval times, a Charles Dickens novel, and even a modern day twist on the Pirates of Penzance.

Harry makes looking sharp more convenient than ever.
The post Harry Rosen Goes Online first appeared on GLOSS: The Fashion Magazine .
Having trouble keeping track of trunk sale invitations or blocking off time to meet with your personal shopper? Great news: Harry Rosen has launched a new e-commerce site that makes it a breeze to check out the latest in mens’ formal wear and more without having to leave your desk!
The recently relaunched website at HarryRosen.com gives a nod to changing times and an increasingly connected clientele base. As CEO and Chairman Larry Rosen. explains, “When we look at the next generation of clients – even when I look at my own teenaged sons – we can see that we need to sell our merchandise online to introduce them to our brand and get them into our stores, where we can develop a personal relationship with them.”
Despite its foray into the often impersonal world of online shopping, Harry Rosen does a great job of strengthening its reputation as the menswear chain that’s all about the customer relationship by making it as easy as ever to interact with your sales associate. The site offers several handy features that help you make in-person appointments and ask questions of a sales associate in a specific store. You can even get recommendations based on your unique shopping history.
For now, the site offers shipping to Canadian addresses and includes over 300 items from brands including Canali , Hugo BOSS and Lacoste . If you’re looking for tailored clothing like a suit or trousers, just make an appointment for an in-store fitting.
And in another sign of the times, Harry Rosen has launched its own blog, The New Confidence . Check it out for interviews and tips about menswear dressing and the latest promotions.
