Better late than never!

Saturday, April 12, 2008 marked a new beginning for Susan Vu, with the opening of her brand new boutique Boudoir in Vancouver’s Yaletown.

Having no experience in retail, this former graphic designer decided she was going to refocus her creative flare on fashion. “I’m not tunnelled at all when it comes to buying. I just go in there with no story, and focus on what I feel will work for my store.”

Susan’s first priority lies with style that falls into the right price points.

“I figure people down here spend a lot of money to live and socialize, so I wanted to create a shop that could offer beautiful clothes at a reasonable price.”

With prices falling between $50 for a tank top and $250 for a fabulous dress, shopping at Boudoir is a no-brainer. Susan’s done a perfect job at merchandising her girly boutique, as it is 700 square feet of modern, clean lines mixed with rich, textured accents to give it a sexy, intimate, closet-like feel!

Susan offers top denim brands like Habitual and J Brand, as well as stylish casual brands like New York’s Covet, known for its organic cottons and adorable detailed jersey tops; Los Angeles’s Revolver, with its amazing modal jersey dresses; Nu Collective, for fancier silk cocktail dresses; and many more. Her accessories include none other than BCBG’s fabulous clutches and DV shoes by Dolce Vita which, by the way, are so adorable and affordable, you may end up buying a pair in each colour!

Susan fairly declares, “There is no reason why price has to define luxury.” Point taken! For a newcomer on the fashion scene, I’d say Susan Vu was just fashionably late.
