Fall into Transition
Susannah Kennedy
In Canada the dipping temperatures make it hard to deny the loss of summer. At “Fall in Transition" at Vancouver’s Caprice nightclub, local designers lit up the runway with many great reasons to embrace the changing seasons. Like the diverse colors of Fall, the show displayed many of the different sides of Canadian fashion. The fantastic event showcased a range of looks for women including casual, glam and lingerie. The best part is that every piece which dazzled the stage can be found at either one of our local boutiques or through a Canadian retailer.
TeenyPig, one of the first Vancouver based online stores, started the show with casual looks for trendy young women. Coquette Couture, two self taught Vancouver designers, featured designs that played with mini dress and satin fabric combinations. Glamourie, showed the sexier side of Vancouver fashion with their line of lingerie and Scout, a Vancouver boutique, marked the runway with styles that emanated glamour including dresses by the fabulous Canadian designer Ric Yuenn. Overall the show made true to its name and made it hard to resist the transition into fall.
