Generation Next

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, and it was this year’s Generation Next three finalists that were fit for fight. Leanne McElroy for Elroy Apparel, Polly Green for Mia Melon, and Nicole Bridger for her own line were the three designers who brought what every competitor brings to competition: dedication, determination, and talent.

With three consecutive shows, it was clear when one designer ended and another began. Elroy Apparel started out strong with her organic, dynamic line. Her clothes had a unique blend of shape and draping that were sculpted into incredibly tailored pieces. Mia Mellon took on the second set with  comfortable, light, and airy pieces with splashes of balloon-like shapes and her signature printed jersey dresses. Last but not least, Nicole Bridger, winner of Generation Next, sent out a collection that was refined in detailing and sharp with appeal. It was streetwear cleaned up! Tucked detailed skirts, layered racer-back tanks, and dolman sleeve dresses were just some of the looks she showcased. Her design talent paired with her business sense won her this season’s title.
