Lights were glowing, and the red carpet was rolled out when Blushing Boutique celebrated the six month anniversary of its opening on Richards Street. Designer Shelley Klassen’s first fashion show turned out to be a very sweet, intimate affair. Pale green silk curtains flanked the runway as the models gracefully displayed Klassen’s girly frocks. Beautifully constructed, her dresses were adorned with small details including crocheted hemlines and inserts and beading and lace overlays. Her summer dresses were cut to perfection, and there were wrap dresses, halters, and empire waists. Prints or solids, silk or cotton, Klassen knows her dresses.
