I'll Take That in Purple

If there is one color worth making room for in your style repertoire this season — it is purple. Out of the mix of popular jewel tones for fall, purple is the brightest and most fabulous of all.

The appeal of purple is a no-brainer; it is simply pretty. With varying shades of light and dark and blue and red tones, there is a purple for everyone.  Purple also has slimming qualities similar to black when worn in dark, rich shades. These shades, which range from mauve to lilac to wine, look most refreshing next to fall’s other leading colour trend – flannel grey.

To boot, purple symbolizes supremacy and dominance and is often seen with images of royalty and spirituality.

Canadian designers such as Eve Gravel, Lune Noire, House of Spy, Valerie Dumaine, Tryd and True, Wonderlust, Lily and Jae and Thieves have incorporated purple into their Fall 2007 ready-to-wear collections.
