Under Pressure?

As if high school wasn't bad enough, Peer Pressure is on the rise and more dangerous than ever for Montreal's young and restless. After only two years, this hot group has risen to the elite status of party planning royalty, tempting the fashion forward club kids of Montreal to indulge in the best guilty pleasure the city has to offer — a Peer Pressure Party.

Feeling the magnetic pull of pressure hype, I stopped by Peer Pressure Loves Neon on September 28th, to see what the cool kids were up to. Decked out in what I assumed to be slick, scenester style, my simply scarved neck and red skinnies paled in comparison to the fashion filled room, brimming with colour, sparkle, and spandex. I instantly reverted to eighth grade awkwardness, choosing to observe rather than try to emulate the oh-so-confident dance moves of my partying peers.  After giving myself a personal pep talk, and a shot of vodka, I decided to traipse through the rainbow forest of bodies to the DJ booth. As if a space ship had beamed my body to another planet, was sucked into Sinden's beats. Resident DJ of the UK's club Fabric, and MIA's newest tour DJ for 2007, Sinden's global perspective on music, takes your body and mind on a journey that can only be expressed through gyrating hips and pumping fists. So there you have it, I gave in to peer pressure, and unlike my earlier mistakes, (think 7 minutes in heaven) Peer Pressure pushed me in all the right places.
