A New Revelation

Sitting down with pop rock band The Rev Squad felt more like catching up with old friends than conducting a formal interview. To say the least, there was certainly not a lack of wedgies and purple nurples involved during our time together. Once on stage, their dynamic switches gear to one that is luring, captive, and most of all, explosive.

Having just released their first EP, New Revelation, The Rev Squad has relentlessly promoted their craft with a Western Canada tour this past summer. The band's uniqueness has generated much interest and discussion, but, ultimately, their success is rooted in their unparalleled individual skills. Lead singer Ella's voice emits power with grace, and her natural on-stage performance quality drives their music to a whole new level. Drummer Petey, the youngest within the group, already has his own fan base developing due to not only his drumming, but his soothing vocals as well. "When Ella takes the stage, she just gets into her own element, and can somehow instill energy into any crowd with her own exuberance. She’ll be doing jumping jacks while she’s singing, no joke. When we’re on stage, I feel we’re truly exposing ourselves to our audience and our fans...and it’s during performances when we feel most comfortable doing that…just being ourselves.”

Packed with emotionally driven lyrics and innovative sounds, New Revelation is itself a musical illustration of the story behind the emergence and purpose of the band.  “We want to encourage our fans to get out of their comfort zones, and challenge themselves to achieve their goals…like we did. That’s probably one of the most important messages we want to send out there.”

Rock on.
