Andy ThÉ-Anh Spring 2008 Collection
Abdi Olow
Playing with colours and fabrics (flat and solid surfaces for new suiting looks, solid silk chiffon or prints for cocktail dresses, matte satin stretch for evening dresses, mushroom pleats and cascade ruffles) to soften last season’s silhouette, Andy presents a spring collection this year with many options for the modern career-oriented women he has always envisioned wearing his clothes. High waisted pencil skirts, constructed jackets, and evening wear full of frills and cascades of ruffles to beautify the backs of dresses were the defining pieces of his Spring 08 collection.
Going against his usual love of bold colour,
Andy Thé-Anh
‘s Spring collection opted for much more icy colour pallets for his dresses (aqua, lavender, dusty pink for dresses), and muted tones such as dark pine, sand and grey for his new suits and jackets.
Aside from a model falling twice on the gleaming white Para painted slick runway, which proved treacherous for many models, there seemed to be no profound surprises at the
Andy Thé-Anh
show this year. Instead, we saw a coherent Spring collection that could take a girl from a board meeting with Andy’s new suiting looks (high waisted pencil skirts/pants, constructed jackets) to the red carpet with his evening wear full of frills, cascades of ruffles, and a bounty of rosettes.
