Le T by Thein Le

People in Toronto and people in the know were surprised to hear Thein Le was showing this year. Yet, he closed Fashion Week with Le T, a literal line for the girl who’s BFFs with a nine-iron … hardly a Kingdom Come

Girls hopped, pranced, and sometimes strutted down the quasi-Astroturfed runway to Cyndi Lauper and Feist wearing gingham dresses and argyle sweaters that wouldn’t look out of place in a Lilly Pulitzer catalogue. Moments of interest appeared in little bursts of floral tulle and golf tees sewn into the top of capri pockets.

Overall, the looks seemed dated. There was little provocation in the construction and the colour palette was replete with safe pinks, blues, greens, and yellows. Le T was utilitarian in the most basic sense. Thein Le needn’t worry about competing with the Stella McCartneys of fashion-forward sportswear anytime soon.
