Cavali Frenzy at H&M

From Toronto to New York to London, the Roberto Cavali collection has caused a frenzy. On November 8, people from around the world hurried to H&M stores to get their hands on the limited edition Roberto Cavali H&M collection.

Even against the backdrop of previous H&M collaborators Stella McCartney, Madonna, and Karl Lagerfeld, the Roberto Cavali collection did not disappoint.

Roberto Cavali stayed true to his signature designs: razor sharp tailoring, sexy jeans, wonderful lingerie and a number of to-die-for red carpet dresses for his H&M collection.  Latin fashion icon Roberto Cavali is many fashionistas' dream designer and a favourite of the stars with his signature style: extravagant, perfectly-flattering and sensual in rock glamour. What was heart warming to many who have admired Roberto Cavali from afar was that the H&M collection offered an opportunity to buy Roberto Cavali pieces at affordable prices.

The party for the H&M Cavali collection brought out many stars. From Halle Berry to Sharon Stone to Mira Sorvino, the stars came out in droves to support Robert Cavalli’s recent collaboration with H&M this past October. “The line is all about opening Roberto Cavali to the people,” said Halle Berry at the launch party for the collection.

Roberto Cavali’s H&M collection also included a complete menswear collection with a suit, a tuxedo, a trench coat, a cardigan, jeans, several shirts and T-shirts, underwear and accessories.

The one-time only collections of 20 men's pieces and 25 women's items launched at H&M featured some of Cavali's favorite pieces for women and men and were available in approximately 200 select H&M stores worldwide.

With the end of the highly successful Roberto Cavali collection, H&M has recently announced that Cavali will be succeeded by textile giant Marimekko for their next collaboration. Marimekko are best known for their vivid prints and colours. Focussing on patterns and graphics, the line will feature 70s-style dresses, tunics, skirts and shorts for women. For men, there will be classic summer shirts and shorts. The Marimekko collection of 50 pieces will hit stores April 2008 worldwide in select H&M stores.
