Hey there Foxy ... what’s the skinny?

If the word “foxy” connotes images of sexy, sassy, and confident, then the Foxy Jeans brand is certainly living up to its name. The Spring ’08 collection displayed at Montreal Fashion Week is fit for the fabulously toned and trendy girl who is also “daring and knows exactly what she wants.” However, with the showing of high waistlines and wide legs as an imminent trend for spring, I just had to have a denim designer’s take on the future of jeans. After the energetic runway show, I caught up Franco Di Zazzo, vice-president of Foxy Jeans.

“We are currently seeing a big variety in jeans; from a slightly higher waist to a low rise, as well as wide leg and skinny leg, there is really a style for everyone,” says Di Zazzo.

That certainly covers it all, but what about the skinny style? Is what seemed like a passing trend only a few years ago turning into the denim-wearing look of the decade?

“The skinny jean provides a desirable silhouette on the very young woman,” Di Zazzo continues. “The wide leg is still doing very well for us, but the skinny jean, in a variety of colours, really suits the Foxy brand.”

Well girls, keep those tushies in shape; it looks like the skinny on the skinny is that it’s here to stay.
