Product Description

The Reason will be one of the bright spots on the Canadian indie music scene in 2007. Refining the aggressive tendencies of their 2003 release Ravenna, they have created an album more melodic in flavour and tinted with keyboard undertones and dancier beats. Influenced by bands such as Cursive and Hot Water Music, and described by producer Gavin Brown as the Police meets Modest Mouse, Things Couldn't Be Better hooks the listener from the opening song "My Broken Legs" straight through to the intensely charged "Reset the Breaker". The charming duet "We're So Beyond This" with Sara Quin (of Tegan and Sara) emphasizes the heartfelt and honest nature of the album

Love the new sound
By rhododendron on Aug. 6 2007
Format: Audio CD
I always thought that The Reason would sound a lot better if they got rid of that growling that some bands do (ex. Alexisonfire) and I don't hear it in this album! Instead they have a more mature sound with keyboards too. The standout track is "We're so beyond this" with Sara from Tegan and Sara. Their voices sound great together. Second favorite is "I felt a song". Probably the most emo song I've ever listen to, but it's awesome.

Best cd of 2007
By Craig James on June 21 2007
Format: Audio CD
I know that's quite a statement, but i'm willing to back it up. It's by far the most mature cd 'the reason' have ever released. It wasn't recorded or produced in a cheap studio and you can hear the clearness in adams voice.

I'm not going to get all wishy-washy, but I truly believe this is the best cd I have heard in a long, long time. Go buy it, especially if you already like the reason!

Things Couldn't be Better
By Pountine Lebarkereau on June 12 2007
Format: Audio CD
On the First listen, it had the ssame energy as Ravenna, but new instrumentals and Ronson Back with the band has made them all better!!!

Reason enough to buy this CD Oct. 14 2012

The Reason is a incredibly underrated band, with a sound best described as a combination of two other Canadian rock groups, Billy Talent and Three Days Grace. Their track "This Is Just The Beginning" is as catchy as they come, with a distinct bass guitar that will leave you humming it days after first hearing it. Highly recommend to those looking for a change of pace to the mainstream music scene.
