TEXT-UR-IZE
You know it is a wardrobe imperative when Prada comes out with both dresses and handbags in a fabric that mimics a wind blown desert more than a clothing option. Designers and couture houses are bringing texture to the forefront in unexpected variations this season.
Canadian design talents like Denis Gagnon, Marie Saint Pierre, Andrew Majtenyi, Andy The-Anh, David Dixon, Fashion Psychology, Izzy Camilleri, Joeffer Caoc, Lucien Matis, and Pat McDonagh have been including details like ruffles, pleats, folds and tucks to form origami-like creations in their Fall collections.
Vancouver-based label Obakki even has a “honeycomb” legging out for this season! Then again, who doesn’t like the idea of wearing tulle, textured taffeta, micro chiffon and viscose crepe? This is definitely the way to add a new dimension to your closet!
