C’mon

C’mon offers the music scene’s fake punks and wannabe rockers a rare glimpse of what it truly means to rock out hard. With unapologetically loud, thrashing guitars and snaky bass lines, Ian Blurton, Katie Lynn Campbell, and Randy Curnew of C’mon break through the barriers of mainstream rock.

Formed in 2003, Blurton, Campbell, and Curnew have all racked up experience in various bands like Nashville Pussy and Change of Heart. Based in Toronto, the band has released two LPs, Midnight is the Answer and In the Heat of the Moment, and three EPs. The band’s 2007 effort, Bottled Lightning, is full of fast, heart-racing guitar riffs and no-hold-back lyrics. “Waiting for a New Day” shows off Blurton’s extreme guitar style, giving off a sound similar to Queens of the Stone Age. And “Feeding of the Dirt” is an anthemic salute to old-school rock.

While C’mon revives the spirit of old school, “real” rock, its songs and sound aren’t inaccessible. Actually, they exude a rather riotous, spirited fun. Catch C’mon as it tours coast to coast throughout the spring. For a complete list of tour dates, check out C’mon’s website at www.thisiscmon.com/shows/.
