Fashion East and West

Several West Coast stores have announced new locations or expansions of existing locations. First, Eva de Viveiros, owner of eclectic and romantic Main Street boutique Barefoot Contessa in Vancouver, will be opening her third store, this time on Commercial Drive. Barefoot Contessa on the Drive, as she has dubbed it, will have the same feel and décor as her original boutique, unlike her second store, Lisette, located on West Broadway.

Second, Spank Clothing, a popular boutique that started on the Drive and that has since expanded with locations in Kitsilano and downtown Vancouver on Granville Street, has announced plans to shutter its Edith & Bob store, which specialized in dresses and opened in the first quarter of 2007. Owner Jana Sehic will not be giving up the prime real estate, however. Since the original Kitsilano Spank Clothing moved across the street to initially make room for Edith & Bob, it will stay there, while the current location has turned into Spank Shoes — dealing primarily in footwear, naturally.

Could stores in other Canadian cities be next for either Barefoot Contessa or Spank?
