Collaborations and Launches
Spanish retailer Mango has partnered with Penelope Cruz and her younger, look-alike sister Monica to launch a limited edition fall/winter collection. The 25 pieces will consist of jeans, sweaters, tees, and accessories, and can be found at Mango stores around the world, including in Toronto and in Montreal. The Cruz sisters, who were raised in Madrid, will also be featured in the collection’s advertising campaign.
Rumour has it that Phillip Lim could soon be creating apparel pieces for Coach. The designer is supposedly in talks with Reed Krakoff, president and executive creative director for the leather goods retailer, with the focus of the collection supposedly on trench coats. Be patient, however: pieces are unlikely to land until spring or fall 2008.
And you thought designers couldn’t get any younger than Hilary Duff or the Olsen twins? Think again. Phat Fashions’ Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughters, Ming Lee, seven, and her sister, Aoki Lee, four, are launching their own collection of children’s wear, called, fittingly, Ming and Aoki.
