Evan Biddell - Eco Warrior
BRYANNA BROWN
Evan Biddell seems to have calmed himself down since participating in Project Runway Canada. While his designs seem to have simmered, his attention to detail has not. Following the runway show, models flitted about the fashion week tents allowing attendees to ooh and ahh over the intricate stitching which he had laboured over himself by hand.
The fall collection seemed very similar to his first breakout collection, as he used all organic fabrics and many silks ranging from army greens, maroons, navy blues and purples. His inspiration for the collection? A Japanese anime eco-warrior.
Hoodies seemed to be a favourite detail of the designer, and were attached to sexy dresses as before in his previous spring summer collection, adding a dose of street wear to high fashion.
While the young designer is best known is to shock, an ominous applause filled the runway room when a model donning a simple long sleeve black ruffled fish tail maxi dress slinked across the floor.
True to form, Biddell came out at the end and mischievously flipped the bird, to which the audience cheered and whistled. Every group needs a bad boy to spice things up.
