Was it noir? Was it art? Was it fashion? Renata Morales left us to ponder the answer as she delivered an eclectic mix of crumpled ruffle minis and skull print dresses. A live saxophonist improvised and jazzed his way through the show, often creating an uncomfortable setting. The collection seemed to meld perfectly with the bizarre artistic mirage Morales had brought to Montreal Fashion Week. Flashes of hot pink booties and a bright red-orange top over a black, sheer, pleated skirt were as gloomy as they were striking. As a first-timer in Montreal, she certainly knew how to make a lasting impression.
