Montreal’s Own Haute Couture
Marie Saint Pierre

If the sheer size of the crowd was of any indication, then Marie Saint Pierre’s show was probably one of the most highly anticipated of the week. The dark trip hop music pulsated through the venue as pale, ethereal creatures in contrasting black-and-whites made their way down the runway. Layered skirts, turtlenecks, plunging and ruffled necklines, stitched-on tippets, silver bubble skirts — the range of styles was endless. Volume dominated the collection, creating many pear-shaped silhouettes showing well-toned legs, even when encased in black tights. Marie Saint Pierre easily retained her title as Montreal’s top designer, revealing once again her unfailing attention to detail and execution.
