HermÈs Turns Seventy

What started out as a Parisian saddlery and equestrian accessory house turns 70 years old this year. Now known for its luxurious silk scarves and iconic handbags — the Birkin and the Kelly, to name a few — the house of Hermès is commemorating its anniversary with a special, limited edition scarf called the Carrès 70. The scarf is constructed in a smaller, 70 centimetre square size and is made of a softer, more matte silk, giving it a more vintage feel. It is available in six designs, one of which was the house’s very first.

New Technology by Armani

In July, GLOSS reported that Levi’s would begin distributing a collection of cell phones that could be hooked to denim jeans; looks like Giorgio Armani is jumping on the phone bandwagon in an effort to further expand his lifestyle brand. According to FashionWatch.com, the high-end designer has paired with consumer electronics magnate Samsung to design both a mobile phone and a luxury liquid crystal display (LCD) television. The phone was recently unveiled during Milan Fashion Week, and its design is slightly reminiscent of both the Prada-LG phone and Apple’s iPhone. In addition to a large touch screen and miniscule, credit card size, the phone features a three-megapixel camera and a music player.
